GB Holdings has appointed Joseph Gunda as the acting managing director of the company with effect from January 1, 2024, replacing Wilbroad Tsuroh who retired in December 2023.

“The board wishes to announce the appointment of Mr Gunda as the new acting managing director for GB Holdings with effect from January 1, 2024.

Mr Gunda is not new to the Group as he is currently the general manager for General Beltings and is familiar with the operations of the group,” the company said.

Mr Gunda is a holder of a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology and a Master’s in Business Administration Degree both from the University of Zimbabwe.

He has 28 years in production and operations management in the plastics, ceramic and rubber industries.

Before joining the division, Mr Gunda was with Lobatse Clay Works in Botswana.

“The group attributes its performance to the initiative and capabilities of its people.  The operational management of the group is delegated to the executive committee which is chaired by the managing director and includes the finance director, the two general managers, and the human resources executive,” the company added.

According to General Beltings, the committee ensures the implementation of strategy and policies.

Tsuroh leaves the Group after 19 years of service.

The company was grateful for his leadership as it said, “Mr Tsuroh steered the company from a loss-making entity to profitability through his able leadership, making General Beltings one of the surviving companies in Bulawayo.”
