ZSE market cap hits $2,181 trillion Zimbabwe Stock Exchange

Bulls charged on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) with total market value jumping 8 percent week on week to $2,181 trillion in gains recorded across board.

The primary indicator, the ZSE All-Share Index, closed the week 6.95 percent higher at 17,216.77 points whilst the Top 10 Index rose 6,14 percent to close the week at 11,417.35 points.

During the week to Friday, total turnover reached $1,796 billion as average daily value traded was $359,23 million for the week.

This was after 35,98 million shares exchanged hands during the week. Average daily shares traded amounted to 7.18 million.

Figures from the market show that activity was highest in Delta, Econet, and Zimplow Holdings, which accounted for 26,79 percent, 21,31 percent and 9,97 percent respectively.

However, trading in heavyweights in the week under review was relatively weak with a loss of 1,38 percent in Ecocash Holdings while the other market’s heavy weight- Delta lost 2,67 percent. Econet had marginal gains of 1,47 percent.

But significant gains for the week were recorded in Tanganda, which jumped 71 percent while FCB and Turnall closed with gains of 47 percent and 38 percent respectively and were the week’s largest gainers.

On the other hand, MedTech, ZBFH and GetBucks with losses of 14 percent, 33 percent and 7 percent respectively, recorded the most significant losses in the week.
