ChatGPT, humanity’s saving grace? Leslie Mupeti

I wrote a previous article about Artificial Intelligence in marketing but that was really before I came across the powerful chatbot called Chat GPT.

Chat GPT is a powerful chatbot developed by a research and deployment company called Open AI.

Even though Chat GPT is an Artificial Intelligence, it still uses prompts from the user and it learns very quickly what you’re trying to accomplish.

At the moment Chat GPT is still in beta (testing) but it is proving to be a useful tool for marketers, brand builders and creatives.

So let’s look at the uses of Chat GPT

Many people turn to Google when they want to ask how something works. Try asking Chat GPT for a change and see the result.

I haven’t used it before but according to the people who have, the results are insane. Chat GPT doesn’t just explain things either, it can also help you write an email or letter, saving you both the time and the pressure of trying to word something just right.

ChatGPT differs from its forerunners in part because of its emphasis on limiting potentially harmful information.

As an example, if you asked Chat GPT what the best way to bully someone online is, it will decline to answer and go on to explain why bullying of any kind is wrong.

The uses of Chat GPT

  1. Content creation

Based on specific input and user interests, Chat GPT can produce interesting and pertinent content, increasing the likelihood of engagement and generating traffic for a company’s website or social media channels.

ChatGPT can also be incredibly helpful for producing content in multiple languages if you’re a content creator who would love to reach a wider audience.

Although Google Translate is available, writing in one language and translating to the other means a lot of contexts and language-specific tones could be lost.

ChatGPT can create content directly in several languages.

  1. Explaining complex topics

Sometimes a topic is difficult to understand just by Googling it.

Consider wormholes, dark matter, and all the other mind-boggling concepts from your Master’s degree programme.

Or perhaps it’s a strange sport whose rules you don’t understand. For a simple explanation, ChatGPT may be helpful.

  1. Writing music in any genre

The “learned creativity” of ChatGPT is one of its greatest assets. ChatGPT doesn’t just deal with soulless robotic concepts, in contrast to some AI solutions. It is also skilled in artistic pursuits, such as writing music. Almost any song in the majority of popular music genres can be written.

In fact, some researchers have written rap songs using the AI platform. To create music with chat, GPT users create lyric prompts for ChatGPT, such as “write a lyrical verse about (topic) in the style of (artist).”

  1. Writing and debugging code

You will occasionally encounter bugs in your code, whether you are an expert programmer or a novice.

You can avoid spending countless hours searching through your code for a misplaced comma by using ChatGPT to help you pinpoint the issue.

Additionally, you can start from scratch and write complete blocks of functional code. It might not be a great idea to deploy ChatGPT code to a production server, though.

  1. Essay and paper writing

Even though it is highly recommended that you write your essays by hand, ChatGPT can create outstanding essays on a variety of subjects, including the trickiest ones.

Go to ChatGPT and register before you begin writing your essay.

After that, you must enter your phone number and confirm your email address. Return to ChatGPT after that, sign in, and request that the bot write an essay for you.

Write me a college essay about America and World War One, for instance.

It will quickly return an entire essay on the subject of your choice. The bot will then provide more if you type “more please” or “make it longer.”

Let’s go deeper

Natural language can be produced and understood by GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models.

Natural Language Processing (NLP), a subfield of linguistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and information engineering, examines how computers and human (natural) languages interact, including how to programme computers to analyse and process significant amounts of natural language data.

Are machines able to mimic learning the way humans do? Using the term “deep learning,” artificial intelligence and machine learning seek to accomplish this.

Machines are fed observations in the same manner as humans (data).

The learning algorithm examines the data and identifies the patterns that most closely match the observations.

Both humans and machines cannot learn without patterns.

The GPT-3 language model developed by OpenAI was trained on a volume of text that exceeds the average lifetime reader.

With the help of this much information, it is possible to create writing that most people will mistakenly think was written by a real person.

GPT-3 offers four main models with different levels of power for various tasks. Although Davinci generally has the most capabilities, there are other models that can complete some tasks much more quickly or inexpensively than Davinci.

Open AI published “text-davinci-003,” the newest member of their GPT-3 model family, on November 28, 2022.

This model has been updated with better capabilities that result in better writing. As a result, users can receive content that is clearer, more interesting, and more compelling.

At the moment Chat GPT is available in a few selected countries.

The service is not yet available in Zimbabwe +45 other countries. Of course you can still access it using a VPN and a virtual Sim card.
