Loretta Songola, regional chief commercial officer for the Central African Region at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, highlighted the significant impact of internet connectivity and digital technologies on the lives of Zimbabweans and emphasizes the importance of digital inclusion in bridging the socio-economic divide.

Over the past decade, Zimbabwe has witnessed profound transformations in business and socio-economic well-being due to increased connectivity and cloud services.The deployment of infrastructure has expanded access to connectivity, enabling more Zimbabweans to leverage digital opportunities.
The focus remains on digital inclusion to ensure that every Zimbabwean is part of the collective digital future.Zimbabwean businesses have experienced remarkable growth and competitiveness through the adoption of new technologies and connectivity.
The ability to leapfrog legacy systems has placed Zimbabwe on par with more connected countries, facilitating cross-continental collaboration and positioning the nation as a pioneer in creating an all-inclusive digital community.“This year’s WTISD theme, “Empowering Least Developed Countries through ICTs,” aligns perfectly with Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ vision of digitally empowering future generations in Zimbabwe.
“The company has played a significant role in Zimbabwe’s digital transition journey by investing in infrastructure, including over 25,000 kilometers of fiber optic network.
“This robust network, supported by proprietary software, ensures instant internet access even in remote areas of the country,” said Songola.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies has been instrumental in empowering various sectors through transformative initiatives. Partnering with the Higherlife Foundation, the company has extended internet connectivity to rural schools, enabling students to access valuable educational resources.
In healthcare, Liquid’s solutions have enhanced connectivity in hospitals, transforming healthcare delivery.Additionally, the company has facilitated efficient e-services for the Government, simplifying transactions and utility bill payments.
Recognising the importance of investing in Zimbabwe’s future, Liquid has also partnered with the Mbare Arts Centre, transforming it into a digitally connected and creative space.
This initiative provides a platform for talented youth to share and showcase their abilities to local and international audiences, fostering the growth of the arts sector.
