Pan-African technology group, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, has acquired Egyptian cybersecurity firm, Cysiv MEA, formerly SecureMisr.

The acquisition enables Liquid to expand its cloud and cybersecurity offerings in Egypt, particularly for financial services companies.

Liquid plans to rebrand Cysiv MEA to ‘Liquid C2’ and make Egypt a hub for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by tapping into local tech talent.

Cysiv MEA has been providing world-class cloud and cybersecurity services to customers in the region since its founding in 2008.

Sherif Shaltout, VP of Operations, Cysiv MEA, said the acquisition “enables our enterprise customers in Egypt and the MENA region to accelerate their digital transformation whilst at the same time acquiring more sophisticated tools to deal with ever-increasing threats through our expanded cloud and cybersecurity services portfolio”.

David Behr, CEO of Liquid C2, said the group would support Cysiv MEA in bringing more cybersecurity tools to customers in the face of an increasingly hostile global threat environment from cybercriminals and nation-state sponsored attackers.

“Liquid recognises the critical role Cysiv MEA has been playing in the cloud and cyber security industry in Egypt and the region. Our main task as a group is to support them in bringing more cyber security tools for our customers as they face an increasingly hostile global threat environment from cybercriminals and nation-state sponsored attackers.

“This will ensure that their business is protected whilst also meeting the demands for global compliance requirements. We will build on the strong market position, experienced leadership, in-depth industry knowledge, world-class team and customer-centric philosophy that has been synonymous with the Liquid C2 brand,” he said.

Liquid operates in 31 countries and sells its products and services to almost 100 markets through a global workforce of more than 5000 employees. The acquisition reinforces Liquid’s position as a recognised integrator of some of the biggest technology companies in the world.
