GB Holdings was incorporated as General Beltings (Private) Limited on 24 June 1968 under company registration number 510/68.

General Beltings Holdings Limited (GBH) manufactures and distributes general-purpose and specialised reinforced conveyor beltings, and rubber and chemical products.

Its factory in Donnington Bulawayo was set up by Balatros GmbH of Humburg, Germany.  Its products were manufactured under the Balatros trade name until the decision in 2000 to acquire the SABS 1173 product mark.

In July 2005 General Beltings was merged with Cernol Chemicals (Private) Limited and was renamed GB Holdings Limited on 6 August 2007.

General Beltings and Cernol Chemicals currently operate as divisions of GB Holdings Limited.

Its product range includes rubber-covered belting, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) belting, light-duty PVC belting, solid-woven belting, transmission belting, and conveyor belt rubber skirting. Its two major customers are Anglo-American Corporation and De Beers.

Joseph Gunda is Group Managing Director of General Beltings Holdings Limited (GB Holdings).

He was appointed to the role on January 1, 2024, following the retirement of Wilbroad Tsuroh.

The company has two subsidiaries; Pigott Maskew and General Beltings.

Pigott Maskew manufactures rubber products for mining, manufacturing, and construction industries; with a product range covering large and small bore reinforced rubber hoses, rubber agricultural and construction rings, rubber sheeting, rubber gasket material, molded rubber products, rubber extrusions, and rubberised charge car wheels.
