The USA tennis star has parted ways with her longtime agency Team8 to start up Coco Gauff Enterprises, which she said will reflect her passion not only for sport, but also “business, philanthropy, and beyond”.

Coco Gauff is used to ruling the tennis court. Now she is also looking to rule the boardroom.

The 2023 U.S. Open singles champion and 2024 French Open doubles champion announced on social media on Wednesday, 2 April that she is leaving her longtime agency Team8 to launch her own management firm called Coco Gauff Enterprises.

Gauff currently sits at No.3 in the WTA singles rankings and is the among the highest earners among female athletes in 2024. She explained that the move to create her own firm was motivated by wanting to take more charge of her sports career.

“I’m excited to build something that allows me to take greater ownership of my career while also creating opportunities that extend beyond myself as I continue to grow as an athlete, entrepreneur, and changemaker,” Gauff wrote on social media.

Gauff, who was Team USA’s flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony of Paris 2024 alongside basketball star LeBron James, has called Coco Gauff Enterprises “a venture that reflects my passion for making an impact – not just in tennis, but in business, philanthropy, and beyond” while also stressing that tennis “will continue to be my main priority”.

“From the moment I first picked up a tennis racket, I’ve always believed my purpose extended far beyond the court,” Gauff wrote.

WME Sports, which has represented tennis stars like Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic, will support the launch and operations of Coco Gauff Enterprises. olympics.com
