CAPS United……..2 Dynamos………….0 Nyasha Mushekwi struck a memorable brace as CAPS United overcame old enemy Dynamos at Rufaro on Easter Monday.
The win lifted Lloyd Chitembwe’s United over Dynamos and to within two points of leaders, Highlanders. In other matches on Monday, Black Rhinos sank Bantu Rovers 2-0 at Gwanzura with goals from Clarence Zimbawu and Lazarus Muhoni. Gunners overcame a battling Underhill 3-2 at Mucheke. But all eyes were on Rufaro where Dynamos were up against undefeated United who ended their sequence of three draws with a 1-0 victory over Gunners on Good Friday. After a dominant first half, United did all the damage in a frenetic opening 10 minutes to the second half. First, Mushekwi smashed in Oscar Machapa’s cross on 47 minutes and three minutes before the half the contest was killed off as the CAPS United frontman scored his sixth goal in three matches – and all in one week. Again, the impressive Machapa was the creator, picking Mushekwi with an almost similar cross as the first, and with the same outcome. Dynamos coach David Mandigora accepted his team was well-beaten by “a better team”. But impatient Dynamos fans will be expecting a response when they meet debutants Eagles in their next match. CBZ Premier Soccer League Results: Monday: CAPS United 2-0 Dynamos, Black Rhinos 2-0 Bantu Rovers; Underhill 2-3 Gunners NewZimbabwe
